Vice Mayor is the DAWG

For those who personally know me from the Philippines, I used to work for a major politician.

Today i found out that one of my students is the vice mayor of a small town, all 1,300 residents of it.

He has a day job with the Deutsche Bahn. He doesn't drive a pimped up car. He has no bodyguard. He is the church organist of the town. And he is also a member of the church council.

My students laughed at how incredulous I was about the entire thing, at how down-to-earth he was, almost embarrassed at even mentioning the entire thing.

And back in my country, people are killing each other for a chance to become vice mayor. Tsk tsk.
